ReadmeDesign is built on a zero-knowledge, client-side architecture. Here is exactly how data is handled across each interactive developer tool:
All form inputs — including your name, role, bio statements, project descriptions, and tech stack tags — are processed in-memory within your browser runtime. No form data is transmitted to or retained on our servers. Downloaded README.md, README.html, and JSON configurations are constructed locally using client-side Blob objects.
The split-screen editor compiles Markdown to HTML using client-side JavaScript. When you generate a shareable snapshot link via the "Share" feature, your Markdown document is compressed and written directly to the URL hash fragment (window.location.hash). Under RFC 3986 specifications, URI hash fragments are processed exclusively by your local browser and are never sent to our servers in HTTP requests. We do not operate keystroke loggers, text scrapers, or session recording scripts.
The Profile Analyzer accepts pasted Markdown or queries GitHub's public REST API to retrieve publicly accessible repository READMEs. Analysis scores across our 10-dimension rubric are computed on-the-fly in your browser. We do not require GitHub OAuth authorization, we do not request personal access tokens, and we do not store profile audits in any remote database.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are popular, where traffic comes from, and how people navigate the site. Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser and collect information about your browsing behavior on this site.
